It appears that Chrome does not allow the bookmark bar in mobile. I'm trying to get away to get my bookmarks from Google into a browser on my tablet I don't really care what browser. Opera also does not allow for bookmarks that I can find.

    Thanks

Chrome has your bookmarks, just tap the 3 dots in the top right of the screen. No bookmark bar needed

Go to bookmarks, on the three dots in the upper right hand, they usually show up.

Yes its true you can access bookmarks with a three or four clicks...it sort of defeats the point of having them. Generally a bookmark can be accessed with one or two clicks. Its faster just to type. So that is what I want to get around. I would love bookmarks to be easy to access. Is there a browser that has bookmarks in Android?

Should be pretty straight forward, it is universal of all chrome I have tried out throughout my electronic devices that connect via wifi, so you do not have to ultra panic of bookmarking Android Forums :)

Welcome to Android Forums, john pickett! :)

I'm a little confused. In your OP, you said that you're "trying to get a way to get my bookmarks from Google into a browser on my tablet."

But, later, it sounds more like you're just interested in having quick access to your bookmarks. Can you clarify, please?

Also, did Danny's post about logging in to your Google account solve your problem?

Mr. Pickett, keep in mind there's not a lot of real estate on a mobile or tablet device, and that is why browsers for these devices don't include a bookmark bar. It's just not practical. Good luck with your quest to find one.

If a browser tried to copy my bookmark bar on a phone I'd have to be able to scroll sidewards to see more than a couple of folders, then open the folder and select the bookmark. Unless you only have a few bookmarks you are going to be using multiple clicks no matter what. If you do only have a few bookmarks many browsers will let you store those on a "start" page (so click button to open a new tab, click bookmark, done). I don't know about Chrome as I don't use that on any device.

I don't use bookmarks to save typing, I use them to save having to remember the full url (text completion doesn't necessarily find the right page in a site, even less propose it as the first result). So I think they have different purposes for you and I.

Anyway you say you want your bookmarks "from Google", so aren't you basically saying you need to use Chrome? Other browsers may sync with their own desktop versions, but they won't sync with Google, so if that is your requirement you are surely stuck with Chrome?
