I'm making a thread for faster searching in the future.

Here is the Settings.apk with tethering enabled. Here is the XML to add it to your own. It goes in "/res/xml".

    Thank you. It works.
Ill be seeing what I can do with it.
Maybe ill include it in my theme as a bonus
I'm not a true dev by any means but I'm into learning.

Yeah, you can't install system apps. Just make sure you have the permissions set before moving it into /system/apps in case your phone reboots before you can set them, if it doesn't reboot itself you're going to need to do that after.

Can you tell us how you actually did this? And i take it the settings.apk needs to be deodexed?

I added the highlighted section to "/res/xml/settings.xml". You shouldn't need to be deodexed for it to work if you are trying to manually add it to your Settings.apk.

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm assuming icons, you'd have to wait for him to do that.

I updated OP with the file for you.

That's most likely a kernel issue and I don't know about you but I'd much rather see the kernel dev's work on CM9 or CM10 than this.

Is a computer necessary to get this to work or can I do through my phone only?

A PC isn't required, but a rooted ROM is. If you're rooted then google how to replace system apps.

No, this is only for the original ZTE Warp. I'm not sure if the 870 has something similar or not.
