Root Boot animation

I've been reading about custom boot animations and am thinking of trying it myself.

I am rooted and have Root Explorer installed. From what I've read, installing a new animation is as simple as using Root Explorer to put the new bootanimation.zip file in the /data/local folder, without even needing to replace the default one which resides in the system/media folder.

Will any boot animation file work, or does it have to be designed specifically for the D2?

it has to have the right screen size or it will be messed up... try bootanimation utility from the xda forums, works real nice

By the correct size, I will assume you mean my resolution or smaller. Anything larger would likely be truncated.

I will look at the utility you mentioned.
