Currently running newts 3.5 Rom. I decided to try boot manager and I was wanting to know if there us a way to add a Rom to a slot from my current nandroid backups. I was trying to add mikfroyo4.6 to boot manager but it will always give me errors. How can I do this without finding the zip and going through the Rom to get everything the way I already have it in my nandroid backup?

I believe you need to flash the Rom through boot manager for it to work. As far as I know just placing a nandroid in a slot won't work.

You can actually put a nan into a slot.

first thing you should do is to read up on this app in the directions.

some tips though, make sure when you are in the app and on the phone rom and on that 'page' of the app, that you do the setup phone option. That makes it so you can go into recovery and flash a zip and get back to your real phone rom if things go south on you. Otherwise you can just do it from within the app itself.

Flashing these slots does NOTHING to your phone rom, it is sitting there fat dumb and happy through out this process. you might need to flash the zip you would find in the bootmanager folder for phone rom if the slot doesn't turn out though.

another thing you should do is go into menu and check to have screen on during install. That way if you have a screen off profile that your phone doesn't screen off and slow way down.

Now the nand that you want to put in a slot, you get to the slot you want to put the nand in, install zip and and then use the restore nandroid option.

about this nand you want to restore, it should not be of a partitioned rom that is using a2sd or that uses apps2sd to move parts of the rom to the sd card, that doesn't work.

Also, be really patient with it when it boots up, let it have some time to find itself, so to speak.

It isn't really to confusing but it may be beneficial to read through this thread.

There are some very good posts on how to use Boot Manager and what is really happening.

    http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...l-boot-up-4-additional-roms-your-sd-card.html

Some Roms just don't work with Boot Manager and if there is a new one that won't flash directly into a slot you can

    1-Go to Recovery,
    2- Make a Nandroid,
    3- wipe everything,
4- flash the new rom and set it up
    5-boot back to recovery
6-make a Nandroid of the new rom
    7- wipe
    8-restore original Nandroid and reboot
9-now from boot manager try loading the new Nandroid into a slot of Boot Manager.

And if you have any other questions I'm sure many here will be happy to try and help.

I read a little bit up on it yesterday and was tinkering with it. I had read that you can do nandroid backups and slots. When I tried to put mikfroyo4.6 into one of the slots going by the directions it would give me errors once I found the nandroid backup and selected it.

not sure what the prob is, you see natertots sig up there, he has 4 slots filled.

I have 4 slots filled as well.

not all work, got to rassle with it a bit sometimes, good luck!

    Maybe try a different one?

Also, you email the developers of the app, they get back to you pretty quick, in my experience.
