I saw this covered awhile ago, but can't seem to find the thread.
I want to get rid of the sound that plays when you turn on and turn off the phone, and the video too if possible. But I can't find the file on my phone to delete it.

How would I go about doing this?

    use RootExplorer and go to:

/system/media/video/ and there is the animation that plays when shutting down.

/system/media/etc/ and theres a .wav file called PowerOn.wav.

thats the only thing i remember. Theres an app called BootAnimation that lets you to change the animation when booting on.
