    Hi

On the 28th August this year I received a HTC Desire phone from Orange on a 2 year contract. Like most people, I am annoyed with the amount

of orange branding installed on the phone and would like to install a generic rom.

I have followed the instructions on http://androidforums.com/desire-tips-tricks/67098-how-flash-debrand-your-desire.html. I can successfully

create a goldcard using the GoldCardTool and the revskillis.de website. However, when I run the RUU roms i received a bootloader 140 error. I

assume this is because the current version on my phone is newer than the version i'm trying to install.

The details of my phone are:
    Android version: 2.2
    Build number: 2.17.61.2.CL245629
    Software number: 2.17.61.2

The roms I have tried are:
    RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20_release_140022_signed.exe
    RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865.exe
    RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122704.exe
    RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe

I have tried to find newer roms to no avail and have scowered the web for solutions but any I find seem not to work anymore and so are

outdated. Any help on resolving this would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,
    AndyKing34

good job the others failed, the 1.x.x.x.x roms would have bricked your screen

My phone informed me today that an update was available. However, when i tried to install the update "OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5-2.29.405.2_releasedauhl6jhok5cmdm6.zip", the phone restarts and on reboot i get a warning triangle over the pic of the phone and then nothing happens. I have to take the battery out of the phone to restart it and everything works fine but the update doesn't run and it prompts me again to install the update. I have formatted the memory card and created a goldcard again using goldcard tool but the same issue happens. Any advice on circumventing this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess the only other option to is wait for a rom incorporating the new update and reflash.
