DISCLAIMER: This isnt for the weak of heart or those whom dont have a clue what they are doing. This can possibly render your device completely useless and completely voids your warranty. We are not responsible, nor liable for anything you do to your device. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

We have thoroughly tested it and have put in every precaution we can to help prevent the unthinkable, but this is still on you if something goes wrong. ;)

OK folks, finally after countless hours of research, testing, and scripting, we have a unlocked bootloader for ICS. \

This uses the bootchain from GB with tdm's 3.0.8 kernel for cm9, and several tweaked files from the Spectrum's ICS itself.

    People to Thank

    The whole team really!! ;)

    Neph
    - countless hours of digging and pulling files and figuring out how to undo LG's black magic.

tdm - for his awesome 3.0.8 kernel and input.

death2all110 - working Neph and the batch file for windows install

PlayfulGod - for the bash script for the Linux/OSX install

    Whats this do?

    • Installs root
    • Installs the unlocked bootloader from gingerbread
    • Installs CWM Touch 6.0.1.1
    • Checks the md5sum on each image before flashing them to verify their integrity

    Requirements

    • Be on the ZV7 OTA or cab.
    • This is to ensure you get the new radio(s)
    • This has not been tested on Gingerbread nor supported for GB.

    How to Install

This is for the Linux/OSX install ONLY. death2all110 posted the Windows installer here. ;)

EDIT: Got it to detect my phone but still can't get it to work :[

Root and CWM look good. Any reason this would bork Bluetooth? The pairing the was in place and working before the script won't connect and, after deleting the existing pairing and putting my Jawbone into pairing mode, the Spectrum doesn't see it as an Available Device. The Spectrum isn't seeing my PC (BT enabled) either, so I don't think this is an issue with the headset...

Related - If I want to undo everything this script does, is it safe to just CAB restore over top of this?

There is a very small chance that the kernel being used does not have bluetooth support set up correctly. It's one of those things I never use, so I didn't check. If that is the case, then we'd need TDM to look at the kernel and see what he can do. And yes, flashing the .cab over this is safe and will just return you to stock which ever cab you flash.

Thanks, Neph (and PG... and TDM... and D2A... and jcase) I'll keep the CAB handy as a fallback. Let me know if there's anything I can rip/dump/capture to help with troubleshooting (or I'll happily wait for CM / AOKP)

Worked perfectly for me for what I can tell... Made a CWM backup and installed a mod with no issues yet.

Thanks for all of your hard work.

Do I have to do something special if I am using a mac. I have rooted and unrooted and backed up and flashed new firmware and everything to this phone, but I have always done it on windows. I just updated to v7 and wanted to get it rooted with CWM, but I am not very familiar with executing .sh files on macs. Any help is appreciated. Hope I'm not bothering anyone. Thanks for all of your hard work Devs. You guys have done so much and put in an immeasurable amount of time to keep this phone amazing! Thanks!

Probably the best idea....I was just getting impatient and knew I wouldn't be able to get to a PC for a couple of days. Thanks for the reply!

I'm not sure what Im doing wrong, but when I run the .sh nothing happens. Tried it in terminal and it says daemon started then just sits there. and sits. What are my options? I'm hoping this thread isn't dead. I know i'm late to the game

*edit* debugging is on and im in internet (ethernet) mode
idk if the phone is connecting. im on linux so its not a driver issue right?

You have to be root in the terminal, su or sudo -s, then run .sh.

umm no you shouldn't have to, but then again I may have my system set so adb runs as root all the time.

Make sure to have debugging enabled and Connectivity set to internet connection > ethernet.
