Successfully rooted Galaxy Prevail last night with no issues. Tonight attempted to install ShabbyMod .8 and got errors during the script. Tried running script again and got same messages. Turned phone off, booted back up and re-ran script. This time I wasn't getting errors, and it was copying files. It successfully copied the busybox files, but the next line hung. I believe it was actually the ShabbyMod line... It hung there saying copying for about 30 minutes and nothing ever went further... Turned off phone and turned it back on it was all over but the crying...

It just boots, and hangs at Samsung screen and vibrates about every minute or so. I have tried holding Up and Camera while powering on and cleared the cache and set factory defaults and still get the same thing...

    Any suggestions?

    No such luck. :(

ADB keeps reporting back error: device not found.
I have the SD card pulled from the phone, and when I plug it into the computer it actually registers as a storage device and creates a drive letter. I can't browse to it though, as it just says insert disk. I tried for grins to put the SD card in and boot it up, but I still get the same thing.

Why do I have the sad feeling I have a $179 brick?

Do you have usb debugging enabled. hit menu settings/applications/ development and check the box.

also check which drivers you have, samsung drivers are needed. If you did not install drivers then you definitely do not have them.

Same here. The biggest mistake was factory wiping the phone. This disabling the USB debug mode from the phone. I am trying to see if some how there is a way to connect the phone to the laptop.
