Help Bought a new to me Nexus One, how do I remove the original google sign in though?

I bought a used Nexus one and I can't seem to figure out where to delete the old owners google sign in. I added mine and the old one doesn't sync, but i still have soe of his contacts in my contacts that I do not know how to remove and stuff like that.

It said I need to return to factory defaults or something, but where? and will that delete the rom that its running too?

Settings, Accounts & sync, look for the other person's account, click on it then at the bottom it should say remove account

Settings => Privacy => Factory data reset

Will be the equivalent of a fresh Windows install. All O/S in place, no installed data.

The phone is rooted so would I lose that doing the factory reset?

I tried to just delete his account but it says that its tied to stuff and can't just delete. Can I get around that?

I can't find that setting in my phone.

No you'd keep that, as the SU files are on the system partition.

EDIT: Can't find the factory reset option you mean? There are other ways. Power off phone, hold Vol- and power on. Select clear storage.
