Rang up the UK Expansys to see if they could tell me price/release date. He said he couldn't, and just as I was putting the phone down he said "oh, the Australian website has the price announced, so I would expect it to follow soon. here". I then asked will the price be similar to the Auusie price, to which he replied "very likely".

Will they round up/down the price??

The price on the aussie site is A$718.40, which equals to

Don't use mutlitouch so not an issue. We get a usb charger with the USA one, and an american plug. I have a converter as I travel a lot so not an issue again..

Did you order yours yet?? :p

also, i STILL don't understand how independent stores are offering this phone for sale/pre-order when in the US it's available only through the google site.

And where does expansis get those numbers from? Might just be a guess like play.co.uk. I don't think we can trust any prices until either google or vodafone says something about it.

Without actual firm confirmation of a uk price its not really breaking news is it :p

I would take a guess it may be to do with Google not understanding the infrastructure possibly? They had a big press conference in America, but not in the UK, so maybe they don't think they can ship as many models here without help from retailers.

    "slight crack news" :p

Made up my mind once and for all. The Nexus One is NOT worth selling my Hero, then paying an extra

Made up my mind once and for all. The Nexus One IS worth the full unlocked price and jumping up and down on my old Samsung D900i :D Mmmmm, modern.

Lol. Smash that D900i up and Youtube it directly from your shiny new N1.

mine is definitely not pink. Ugh.

Still, it has served me well for the last 3.5 years, including multiple drops onto hard concrete, a dip into a malibu and coke (whatever you do, don't balance your phone across the top of your drink with the camera light beaming down to help you roll a ciggie in a club. it does not end well) and glastonbury x3. Not a single defect aside from the # key is slightly worn away. I'll miss the lil thing.
  13. Lekky you definitely need to order yourself a Nexis One and get rid of that old Hero .... jump on the Nexus One bandwagon with us and enjoy the happy times !!!!

My gf won't like it, she says theres nothing wrong with my Hero. And I could spend that
  15. This means you need a new phone (nexus) and a new gf !

lol, agreed on the new girlfriend sentiment. i would never dream of stopping my boyfriend getting a coveted gadget. I'd probably encourage him and spend more time playing with it than him :D
  17. maybe oniongirl and lekky should meet up !!!!!

Here Here. If gadgets and tech are your passion - tell her that anyway regardless - then you shouldn't have to suffer with an old phone! It's not really old but you want the N1 don't you now?

So what's the news on the VAT and Tax from the states then? What's the pre-paid by Google stuff about?
  22. markouk

    markouk Android Enthusiast

    Where did that come from?
Do you have a link to some quote about google pre-paying it?

Is there a date for release for the UK? I'd rather not buy from the US and get whacked with VAT (which seems to happen to me everytime) etc.

So? You think you won't pay VAT when it's released in the UK?
It's not because it's already included in the price that you don't pay it... :p
  25. bartmanekul

    Errr, no. Not stupid thanks.

Generally, stuff is cheaper getting it from wherever outside the UK, until VAT is slapped on it by customs.
