If you made a nandroid backup first, restore it.

If you didn't, never flash a Rom or kernel again without doing that.

Suggest a factory reset to solve this one if you didn't nandroid.

Hope this helps.

Ok - let's start with how you got here so I'm not confused and giving you the wrong steps.

Did you install using Rom Manager, and make your backup with Rom Manager (or from the phone's bootloader menu, same thing)?

Not trying to bust your chops at all - I just know in these cases to always start with baby steps. ;)

i down loaded ROM manager from the market and then flashed clock work with ROM manager. From there i got MIUI SPEEDY I think (now I could be wrong) I backed it up. But......

EDIT - whew!

OK - in Rom Manager - you can restore your nandroid backup from there. :)

You won't have your new rom, but you can re-try the install once restored.

~~~~~~
A nandroid backup is a full image backup of your phone - it's an entire snapsnot - an image - of your phone at the time you made it. It's not a rom, it's the rom, apps, settings, ever.y.thing. you had at that point in time.
You don't look for it on your PC or try to use it on your own from SD card, you deal with it through Rom Manager or bootloader menu only.
If you didn't make such a backup, here's your factory reset info:
homescreen -> Menu -> SD & phone storage -> Factory data reset (Erases all data on phone)
Personally, after any rom or kernel install, I do a factory reset, then a PRL update, then a Profile update - in that order - every time.
Power off.
Hold down volume key while powering up.
You'll get a new type of screen with words coming up in fine print. When you see that, let go of the volume button.
That is your bootloader screen.
Follow on-screen directions - vol up/down moves cursor up/down - as I recall, quick tap on power button makes selection.
Look at the menu to see if you have options to clear data or clear cache or both.
Select those.
Alternatively - select the nandroid option and then restore. ;)
The options to clear data/cache are the factory reset.
Do that, then reboot.
If trouble persists, go back to that bootloader menu and do a nandroid restore.
As long as you can get to your bootloader menu, you're not bricked - you're just experiencing a pain in the nether regions. ;)
You can do everything you need from the bootloader menu to restore a phone.
Glad to hear it's on the mend!!!
Bookmark this page, tell all your friends:
1. Always make a nandroid before flashing new stuff.
2. Always clear cache/data when installing new roms or kernels (factory reset from user menu is the best way, but bootloader gets it done, too).
3. Titanium Backup Pro or MyBackup Pro are your friends, use one to save apps and stuff when swapping roms.
Oh - one other rule: never panic when you have a root problem. (Not saying you did, just saying, that's a rule.)
Panic makes for actual bricks when the fingers are nervous - and it totally makes your dog unhappy and sad (although your cat will just get disgusted).
Have a good one, enjoy your new rom! :)
BTW - one thank you is way more than plenty, and you're entirely welcome. ;)
I love seeing things like this - people helping others. I had a smile on my face the wbhole time just reading this thread. I personally want to thank Earlymon as well as the many others who help people with their evo shifts because at one time I needed help and thanks to others, my issues were resolved. Thanks you all for making the evo shift a great phone to have and making the evo shift community a great one!
