OK, I am here to get some advice, as much as I can, before I decide whether or not to go shopping.

I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. I have only bought the phone three months ago. I have the most up to date software on it that I can have. Just recently, the internet and the GPS has been going a bit wobbly.

Before, when I used the Facebook app, for example, when I made a posting, the little location name would appear at the bottom of the posting automatically, that no longer happens. Also, I used to be able to 'geotag' photos, the geotag thing no longer works either.

When I use the browser, to access Facebook, I see that I have notifications, I press the icon to display the list of them but when I press a notification to view it, it won't open. When I go to the 'full list' of notifications, to try to access the notification from there, it won't open either. (I am only using facebook as an example here because that is what I use the most).

I can't update the browser anymore as there are no more updates for this phone.

Also, something else I have noticed, the phone is turning itself off and on again by itself. I don't know why this is happening. All the other apps and functions on the phone are either very slow to open/activate and sometimes the 'force close' error pops up on the screen too.

Are there any solutions to these issues? I wanted to get as many pieces of advice as I could before deciding whether or not to invest in a new handset. I am annoyed that I might have to, this phone is only 3 months old, but according to people if I get something exchaned under the manufacturers guarantee, they will only exchange like for like and if these problems are going to continue, because they may be software based problems, then it will just happen on the new handset too, so there is no point in exchanging like for like.

Any help and advice would be appreciated so much.

    Thank you. :)

Just to clarify, do you get the same notification issue when accessing Facebook via the application instead of the browser?

In regards to the other issue I would be worth running the update again. Also check that you have a reasonable amount of free phone memory. if these are all good and you still have the problem back up the memory card and format it.
