So I've only come into this problem recently and I haven't made any shocking changes to my phone. I can not overstate that I have downloaded Zip files in the past and not run into problems. This is a recent complication.

Whenever I try to download a Zip file that is around 80KB for example, the download will read complete after an instant. But it will have only downloaded a few Bytes.

    I have tried the following:

    a) Using different browsers.

    b) Checking the amount of space on my internal memory and SD card. (More than enough)

    c) Re-downloading file from same site and multiple others.

    d) Connecting to Wi-Fi as opposed to 3G.

None of this has worked, I honestly don't see how any program could interfere with the phone's attempt to download files though. Any suggestions from geniuses out there? A quick fix would be ideal, I really don't want to restore it to factory settings.

    Try this:

Main Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Browser > Clear Data.

Unfortunately that didn't solve it either. I have a feeling I may need to either deal with it and just transfer stuff via computer, or perform a hard reset. Both ideas leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Well I feel incredibly confused. Apparently all 5 sites I tried to download stuff off of must have been incompatible with the Android OS or the phone's hardware because I just tried another site and it works.

I must have just been REALLY unlucky by choosing 5 sites that didn't work with it.

Strange.... but good I guess. Sorry to bother ya guys.

No problem, though that is strange. At least the cause of the issue has been narrowed down.
