Root Build a kernel from source. Maybe a new guide.

I've been trying to figure out how to build a kernel from the source off of Whyzor's github. I have downloaded it, tried to use this link to build itcguru:

and another (I think google's builder site) site that I lost for now. I know it's simple. I just don't know why they say to do some of the things they say to do. So I know I'm not making the proper changes so I can fix my end.
