hmm im gonna look at this a little later. Hopefully they release the exact method soon.

I would not be surprised if the Volt has the same method of "bootloader lock" (i.e. secureboot validation) - I doubt LG would have spent time making anything custom for this phone. From what I've read, seems that they're signing images with LG's signature (or something that the phone thinks is LG's signature). In a week or so they say they will release more details.

im sure that if there were new info, it would be posted, but, im just checking if there has been any update to this yet. im not trying to be pushy.

The Bump devs have not yet posted a tool to sign images. My (slightly unrealistic) hope is that the key used to sign LG G3 images is the same for the Volt - that would be the best case scenario. We should immediately be able to flash our current CWM to our recovery in that case...but it's wishful thinking at this point.

    Bring on the goodies!

So does this just get flashed via "fastboot flash recovery name.img"?

I used Sammyz laf recovery tool. but i have heard you can use flashify also. And yes that would be the correct fastboot command.

awesome, glad it worked for us. I tried paying attention to the bump thread but it turned into a total S**T show.

Edit: i think i still have a version of twrp that i also built, in the next day or so i will see if i still have it. So then you can use cwm or twrp.

    Sweet, thanks bad_mofo.
With a working recovery I'm definitely willing to test anything any dev wants to play around with.

Twrp would be awesome. I don't know why, but I've always preferred it.

I'm just so excited now we have bump.

Enable Developer options, enable usb debugging.
DL this Sammyz Laf Recovery Multitool https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzsQwTUZjTO5aVhfNHdOTzRsVDA/view?usp=sharing
    Extract, run the Run.bat
accept the rsa key on phone
Back in the command window your device should be visible
    Choose G to flash recovery
    press any key after complete
    Should still see phone
Choose H to boot into recovery

try at ur own risk, worked for me

Bump'd img and original recovery included
Not sure if Root is needed, as I am already rooted

No, I'm glad you kept me on my toes. I just really appreciate everyone's hard work. Just did my first backup. I was in traffic for 2 hours after your bump'd post went up. LONGEST DRIVE EVER.
