    Hi everyone,

I will be moving to japan in the coming months, and am looking to buy the galaxy s 2 through ntt docomo. my question is, will i be able to change the language to english?

also, will i be able to use the phone in the states if i pop in an AT&T sim card?

    thanks!

I am 99% certain that you are just fine. While I have not had my hands on a docomo model, I'm quite certain that it will be the same as the one I have out of Hong Kong. I cannot remember how many languages there are but english is on each of them as I understand. It's just a matter of going into settings and choosing english.

Thanks for the response! Just out of curiosity, does your GS2 have a pull-out antenna? the ntt docomo model has one (because it supports 1seg tv).

also wondering, (assuming ntt docomo locks the phone), is there a way for me to unlock it and pop in an at&t sim for when im in the states?

Definitely no problem for English speakers, buddy has his DOCOMO version as of yesterday... (got mine, mobicity a few days earlier!).

The phone is a bit heavier than world form, and am trying to see what other specs are different (SEG TV... etc).

Hopefully, if you travel, somebody comes up with the unlock method!

Just went to docomo, picked up the last model...lucky me. It's ridiculously popular here. The worker told me there's a 1-2 month wait list at most shops.

I did pay a little over 3000 yen to unlock it.

1SEG TV is awesome. it's a shame that the non-asian variants don't offer this feature.

Thanks for the help! This phone is awesome. Blows my old iphone 4 away.
