I want to buy a new battery for my desire, so i have a backup for long journeys to swap when the battery runs out
I've looked on Expansys & its just under

Yep 1400 is a bigger mother than a 1200mha, but the shocking thing about batteries is; legally, batteries only need to perform to 60% of stated capacity. Some unlabelled batteries can be real bad. I would stick to the proper HTC battery, they are of a VERY good quality.

I do a lot of fishing, around two to three nights at a time, so need to have spare batteries, i brought three from Ebay, one 1400mha and two 1600mha, never missed a beat, and last has long has my HTC original one.

I got a replacement 1600mah battery that doesn't last as long as the original HTC Desire one.

The 1600 battery struggled to last 8 hours, the standard HTC one last 1.5 days.

I was getting maybe 6 hours with the stock battery, and that bumped up to about 8 after putting Juice Defender on it. I didn't want to deal with swapping batteries during the day, and I can be away from the charger all day. So I went with a 3000 mah battery from ebay with the extended back cover. I have no complaints so far. If I charge it while I sleep I am good from when I get up around 7:00 AM to midnight and it just gets down into the orange zone. The back cover fits like the original cover. It's a bit heavier, and doesn't fit in the shirt pocket as well, but it meets my needs better than a stock battery, although I probably could get by with a stock battery and chargers at home, work, and in the car.
