I am 3 months away from an upgrade. If I buy through Amazon, will I get the 199$ price, and then be billed the 250$ later (449$ total)? Or will they immediately reject my upgrade and charge me the full 599$ ?

I really want this phone, but $600 is a lot of money for a phone I will probably replace in less than a year for the next version.

    Has anyone tried this?

I think you'll have to pay the full retail price.

I also agree you will have to pay full price.

Full price on verizons site is only 529

it wont work. amazon verifies with carrier, before giving u the cellphone. even if the order succeeds they will later increase to full or allow u to cancel. if you are only 3 months away, u can probably convince a verizon rep to give it to u. forget the amazon price though.

If you want, you can try calling VZW directly, and asking if they can move your upgrade up a bit. I know that several members on here had that done, however it seems a bit arbitrary on how close you have to be to the upgrade date, and how long you've been a member (probably will have a better chance if you've been with VZW for quite a while)
