calendar/Appointment Notifications are Deficient

Using Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950U running Android version 9.

First off, I have a Galaxy S6 as well as the Note 8. On the S6, I get a notification of an appointment and then get another notification every so-many user-selectable minutes until I acknowledge the notification.

On the Note 8, I get only one notification, that's all, just one, and I cannot find any place in the Note 8's menus to make this thing repeat until acknowledged.

I've been trying for months, off and on, and it is just not there. I've been to the T-mobile store three times over as many months and today, I got lucky and found the person whom I think is the most knowledgeable at that store and he couldn't find such a setting either and gave up after several minutes.

Suggestions?

By the way, I do not use Google Calendar or any other cloud apps on my phone. I do not have internet on my phone except by WiFi so whatever the solution, it must work independent of internet access.

The simplest solution is to use a different calendar app which does have repeating notifications. Many 3rd party apps can do this.

If you really want to go to town with this look up "Snooze It" (beta, replacement for the venerable Calendar Snooze). Lots of repeat customisation, full-screen notifications if you want them, is purely a calendar notification app so doesn't require changing a calendar app you are otherwise happy with.

There are two Snooze It in the Play store, one by Bitfire and one by Altitude. Which?

The Bitfire app is the only one of the 2 that is a calendar notification app. The other one's name is actually "Snooze It Alarm Clock", which indicates that it has a different function.
Tried it but it will not run on my phone. It quits with a cryptic error message.

Interesting. Runs fine on my Pixel 2 (Android 11).

(Android 9 was about the time that Calendar Snooze began to stop working properly, as far as I remember)
