Curious.. Is there an app or plug-in that would change the notification for calendar event reminders to a pop-up instead of in the notification bar? (like Handcent handles notification of new text messages)

Similar to how blackberry's handle calendar events..

    Any thoughts?

I believe Astrid has a popup option. You can also sync Astrid with your calendar as well.

I don't think there's anything like that. Sorry.

There's got to be a dev out there that can come up with this app. I don't see why it hasn't already been developed.

I agree. Seems so simple, im just not a java man. (android is java right?)

It's the same principle as handcent. Maybe we can convince handcent to create. They'd take portion of the existing code and just use it to interface with calendar event alerts, instead of sms alerts. Seems simple to me, just not simple enough for me to do. lol.

Bumping and adding a voice. Forgive me BB tendencies, but pop-ups would be great for me... :)

Ditto the bump... need a screen pop up notification for the built-in calendar.

The last 5 smart phones I've had for the last 10 years (palmos, WM, BB) have had this feature.

It sounds like some other android devices have this setting, but not the Epic (that I can find).

Anybody know a good app that adds this setting?

Try Calendar Snooze, it will pop up when an alarm goes off, and gives many more options for notifications than stock. The free version will still give you lots more options than stock.

Try Calendar Snooze, or Nudnik. I own both now, just switched to Calendar Snooze yesterday, but both do this well. I had issues with Nudnik dismissing without some lag though.

++edit++ sorry I didn't see that the first post actually was entered.
