I did a search but nothing came up regarding popups.

I set an important meeting on my Hero calendar for yesterday afternoon with notification 15 minutes before. I didn't realize that it would be only a ringtone notification and not actually a pop-up telling me what is coming up. This is standard for blackberry calendar and Outlook and woud like to do this one my Hero as well.

Is there any way to set up a pop up notification?

    Great question!

I haven't had to be reminded yet, as I check my day first thing, but every now and then I have senior moment and would appreciate a reminder.

Any apps out ther for this?

Not sure what you're doing different, but i always get a reminder for events. Takes up the whole screen and you gotta drag down to cancel or press the snooze button at bottom.

I open up the calendar>add event>fill out what, time, where>set reminder time>hit add at bottom left.

I just tested it again and got the ringtone notification with no popup.

Wait, I did a second test calendar event and I got the whole screen reminder. Very strange. Lets hope it keeps working.

Go into the calendar app (not widget, the actual app).
Press Menu - settings - reminders
reminder display options are "show as alert" or "show in notification bar"

    done.
