Help Calender synch with Exchange server

I am completely new to the Android experience, but so far am loving it. I have synchronized my phone with my exchange server and appear to have lost most of my appointments, and some of the ones that I didn't loose have replicated themselves many times.
Does anyone know what caused this, how to stop it, and is it possible to recover the lost appointments?
I know I had a lot of things scheduled for this week, but with the exception of a few things that have either been there for a long time or are reoccurring appointments, they are all gone. I need help quick!
