Help call volume issues

I've had my phone for 2 days now and have noticed that when I'm on a call the volume is really low and I can barely hear the other person even when the volume is on max. If I change it to loudspeaker the volume is fine.

I called orange tech help yesterday who said I need to be on 2G rather than 3G as the phone is 3G compatible not a 3G phone and the signal in my area is weak. When I checked orange's 3G coverage in my area online, it said it is excellent!

Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

Am still within my 7 day cancellation period...

I thought it was a bit quiet at first but after nudging up the volume was absolutely fine.

its been fine for me, running on t-mobile sim in the UK.

Changing to 2G only boosts the reception signal, but it shouldn't affect the actual volume of the call.

In fact, I think mine is too loud. But then, I have sensitive ears. I listen to music at volumes that my friends would consider muted.
