I just finished setting up my shiny new Sensation and love it. But... The camera app flashes the screen off and on non stop... The camcorder works perfectly. A restart and battery pull didn't help. I really hope I don't have to reset out and start over again... :-(

You can try clearing the data and cache from the camera app. If that doesn't work the next step is a reset

Well, that didn't work so I had to factory reset it. Everything's working great now though. :)

Glad you got it working. I try to avoid resets too but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

Sounds like either a rouge app you may have installed or you need to warranty it out.

Ok, so I got a response from HTC who recommended I contact T Mobile for a warranty exchange. Before I dialed 611 to get that going I started the camera app one more time. No flashing.

Hmm, maybe it's related to battery temps somehow? I exercised the phone some, but still no problem with temps going from the initial 87 all the way to 102.

Ok maybe it was an app that's not currently loaded to memory? I just spent an hour and a half opening every last app on my phone and testing the camera after every one. It still works...

I'm hoping that whatever the issue was it's worked itself out, but I'm always suspicious of that kind of thing. My current wild theory is that the flash was caused when the camera focusing mechanism would stick, since the flash was accompanied by a click from the lens. Maybe a days' worth of being in my pocket and heat cycling worked that loose from its too tight "new" state...

Try this: Get a recent picture from Gallery and Use Menu to Show on Map. Chances are the app is trying to geotag a picture and has ended in a loop - for whatever reason.
It worked on my Desire HD.

If it ever starts doing that again I'll definitely try that, but it's been behaving for several days now...
