Help Camera is autorotating

A friend of mine has the Inc 4g and for some reason, if you take a picture in portrait mode, the camera will auto rotate the picture to landscape...regardless of how perfectly vertical you hold the phone. Outside of a factory reset, anyone have any suggestions? I went thru the settings and couldn't find anything...doesn't mean I haven't overlooked something.

re-calibrate the G-Sensor maybe?
