I got a new G2X in early September, and I'm fairly certain the flash worked at that time, and that the camera options were working correctly. (I had another G2X that bricked when I tried to upgrade to gingerbread, so TMO sent me a new one under warranty, came with Gingerbread.)

Recently, however, most of the options are grayed out. Flash only shows "Off", White Balance only shows "Auto", etc. Seems like if I select "Auto" for the flash, it takes, but it doesn't take any pictures with the flash, even in very low light. When I close and re-open the camera, the option has reverted back to "Off".

Any ideas? I would obviously like to avoid a hard reset. I'm not rooted, and though I've seen the posts about getting the Froyo camera, I'm hesitant to do it, because I feel certain I'd brick it.

    Thanks,
    Eric
