Hi, not had my Desire for that long and i'm a bit concered at the camera quality, I've been browsing the internet looking for other pictures took with this phone and they all look stunning for a phone camera, the problem is when I come to take any pictures at all they all turn out terrible.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is my phone faulty?

Here are some of the samples I've been looking at - Flickr: Camera Finder: HTC: Desire

And here are a few I've took on a sunny day:

Surely the camera shouldn't be that bad?

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Have you got a finger print on the lense or something?

Is it possible there was condensation between the back cover and the camera lens? did the phone go from a hot climate to a cold one or vice versa before you took those? can you see condensation *in* the lens?

took a couple around the flat to show you mine, including one of the screen so that you can take an identical picture to compare with.

i think we all know the camera on it is pretty horrible, especially in low light, but yours seem too foggy.

Sorry to hear for your troubles.

Check your camera settings and make sure you have images set to be taken at high quality and 5 MP. I have left everything at default and my pictures are much better than the ones you posted. Also try downloading another app from the Market- FXCamera springs to mind, and give that one a go. If you keep getting same poor results and there is no condensation or dirt on the lens...well you should get a replacement.

Good luck.

Ah thanks for that, never thought of checking that for some reason lol, when I take the cover off the pictures are how they should be, if i hold the back cover upto the light you can see scratches, looks like I need a new back cover.
Any ideas where I can get one from?

Have you cleaned the inside on the battery cover lens properly?

If you need a back cover you can get one direct from HTC.
