Motorola just released their camera app into the playstore. Of course, only Moto phones can install it.

Back from when I used to root and flash custom ROMs, I remember I used to be able to install different camera apps from different ROMs.

My question is, does anyone think, or know, if its possible to install a different manufacturers camera onto your phone? I wouldn't mind Motorola or HTC's apps.

Also, if its possible would it require root or could I do it without breaking my warranty?

I wish it was available for the Nexus 5. I tried awesome camera and compared it to stock. Seems like Awesome camera takes darker photos then stock. So uninstalled it.
