can an unlocked verizon droid incredible be used?

I bought an unlocked verizon HTC 6300 incredible, but I am told that I can only use a verizon plan for this phone, although it is unlocked. Are there any other plans that will work with this phone, such as the Walmart no contract plans?

Only plans that use Verizon towers will work with it. There's no such thing as an unlocked Verizon phone. Locking keep you from using another carrier's 2G SIM card in the phone. Since Verizon doesn't use SIM cards for 2G ...
