Can anyone link me to a user friendly debranding guide please ?

Does anybody have a link to a decent step by step guide to debranding a desire by reflashing with a new Rom ?

I have a Vodafone branded handset and want to flash it with a generic HTC Rom so that I can then get the official 2.2 upgrade.

I would rather do this than install one of the 2.2 Roms that are floating around on XDA etc as many of these have been tinkered with in some way and I would prefer a 100% clean version.

I sure there is a bulk standard generic HTC 2.1 Rom out there so my thinking is to flash that onto my handset and then check for updates at which point I should be prompted to upgrade to 2.2.
