Can I disable Moto Active Display and still wake the phone by waving my hand?

I'm thinking about buying the Moto X Pure Edition but am not a fan of the Active Display. I want to know if I can disable Moto Active Display and still wake the phone by waving my hand so I can see my normal lock screen?

So are you saying that you don't use the Moto Active Display and just use the stock lock screen?

Yep,swipe to unlock. No pin or pattern. I like being able to wave my hand over the screen and see the clock and lock to swipe. My phone and my wallet are never out of my sight.

Found exactly what you are asking for. With Moto Active Display disabled you have to use power button to wake phone. Sorry, I'm still learning. Active Display is enabled by default and its one of the Motorola apps I haven't gotten around to playing with yet.
