When my phone is in its holder in my car, and i am on a call, my phone will lock, meaning to end the call i have to unlock the screen (using power button) to unlock before i can end call.

Is there a better solution? justs gets a chore to hang the phone up.

Are you using the speaker for calls or a headset? Surely the latter would allow you to end the call via some remote means on the headset itself?

I am sure there is one called 'screen on' that allows you to assign it to certain programs, but I have not used it

There is a setting on the Hero which allows you to keep the screen on when powered from an external source, I would think the Desire will have the same option somewhere.

probably can set screen on if powered up, as mentioned above. But on a half hour journey to work i may not plug in.

I use the 3.5mm jack via interface into my stereo (utilising the cd multiplayer input) works great, but just the above niggle.

This is what you need. click start service and then put it in your ignore list of any task killer you may be running.

Also, on a separate note, if your driving try this also. It's called car mode and I personally think it should be part of android by default.
