Support Can I Flash Hboot no s-off?

    I was wondering if there was a way to flash a new hboot to my evo v 4g without being s-off. I was thinking through cmd and adb but im not really sure how to do it. any help apreciated.

    No, the only way to get a new hboot would be to accept an ota or update via an ruu.

    And you generally don't want to do that if you are thinking about rooting. Check the rioting guide for specifics on desirable hboots

    oh okay thanks guys and i was just asking because i am already rooted however the s-off procedure explained in the rooting tutorial did not seem to work on my windows 8 pc or perhaps it was just me

    it's just you lol. I rooted and s-off'd my phone from a W8 computer.
