Root Can I go back from 2.2 to 2.1 stock?

I've tried the leaked 2.2 and the OTA.

One of the two is destroying my 3g reception. I'm getting only location services in many places where I had 1x or 3g reception. In general its just a pain for me. I want to go back to 2.1. I have a backup but I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be breaking anything by flashing to it.

Is it possible to return to stock from 2.2 using the PB31IMG.zip file? Does the antenna need to be returned to 1.0 before or after stock is restored? or does it matter?
