LG Volt
Android 4.4.2

I recently got a new phone, called my carrier ( Boost Mobile ), had the old phone above disconnected from it, and the new phone connected.

My gym has WIFI, so I would like to use my old phone there for music ( YouTube ).

I would like to put the "AdBlock Browser" on the old phone, now disconnected from the carrier.

Will I be able to install the "AdBlock Browser" through Google Playstore on the old phone, despite the old phone being disconnected from the carrier?

Keep in mind that ad-blockers are against Google TOS.

This means that that browser most likely is not ad-free.

There are many better options available for real ad-blocking.

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/acr.browser.lightning/

https://f-droid.org/packages/org.blokada.fem.fdroid/

Also, for an ad-free Youtube experience, try NewPipe.

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.schabi.newpipe/

Is the FDroid client like Playstore in that you bring it up, search for the app you want, and it takes care of getting it for you?

I noticed there were no directions. If I download FDroid will installation be automatic?

Is the Lighting browser enough to block redirect ads on YouTube? What about Blokada 5?

I posted a link for NewPipe, which is to be used for Youtube.

Once you download F-Droid, you must find the downloaded file and tap on it.

There will be a "scary warning" pop-up, which is Google's last attempt at keeping you on their plantation.

Install the app, then open it.
There is a set-up time when the app is new.
Literally thousands of apps are available on F-Droid.

After the initial set-up, it works like many other app stores in that you type in info and apps that 'match' come up.
Searching manually by category is also available.

Lightning is an excellent browser, but NewPipe is the way to go for Youtube.
Use Lightning for your other browsing needs.
