Can I output movies/media to my TV

I have a Droid X2 and a Nexus 7 tablet. Here's a simple question. Can I stream Netflix, YouTube or any other media application to my TV?

Now the more complex question, If so, how? I have a 3 year old HDTV with the usual inputs, including HDMI. I don't particularly care to watch movies and TV on my phone or tablet, but I'd love to be able to take advantage of them on my large screen. Either way I'd like to know so I can either do this or move on.

AFAIK:
Droid X2 yes. This has HDMI video out.
Nexus 7 no. This doesn't have any video out.

Might be some issue with Netflix Digital Restrictions Management(DRM) not allowing movies on a mobile device to be streamed to a TV. YouTube should be OK though. That's what I've read, someone else would have to confirm if this is true or not.
