what is the best method to over clock my vibrant i wanna keep stock rom is that possible
You need a custom ROM or at least a custom kernel to overclock. Here's a kernel you might take a look at:
[KERNEL] JAC XMOD OC/UV w/Voodoo and w/Colorfix [CFQ] CWM/Stock/ODIN V1.1 10/02/10 - xda-developers
Pay close attention and do some reading/research before you flash anything. Ask questions if need be, otherwise yours could be a tale of misery and woe.
After installing on OC kernel SetCPU is the best way to go:
SetCPU for Root Users - Android app on AppBrain
This guy David in Arizona has 4 videos you can watch and root, lagfix and overclock your Vibrant with NO PC! I did it and have had NO problems! Getting 2100 quadrant scores and overclocked the CPU to 1200 Mhz! Check it out! YouTube - akaskriller's Channel
i know david i got his number in my phone ive done his friends lag fix oclf in the app market place but lag fix is not a overclock
i do already own set cpu but apperantly i need a modded rom to over clock or is there a kernel that i can use or do i need to do a whole new rom
thats his buddys friend that he roots and lagfixes in the videos btw im getting 2300 quadrant scores davids phone gets 4000+ quadrant scores

Hi, i just rooted, installed the JAC Custom kernel v1.1 and lagfix but i still notice stutter when scrolling through 3 homescreens. (disabled the others)
i have 2 widgets, 15 game folders (categorized by genre) and 10 other shortcuts spread across these homescreens. i have it OC'd to 1200MHz and the Quadrant score is at 2431-2440 range.
i thought OC will improve performance especially with psx4droid but i dont see the difference. clockwork mod 18.104.22.168
lol nothing just trying to get a rise outa you you have posted on every one of my threads the first person to have ever done that lol not bi****ng of course just saying
btw mine is now overclocked stock rom well now i have to figure out if i wanna go and try a different rom hmmmmm to flash or not to flash zat iz zee question
Oh, okay. No worries! Just a matter of timing I suppose.
Well...if you want to try a great ROM, check out Bionix...should be updated later today to v1.6. It's been getting rave reviews, and I've been using if for the past few weeks.
[ROM] Bionix 1.5 - JI5 Build w/New JI6 Modem *10/02/10* - xda-developers
It's a brutally long thread, but it makes for interesting reading overall.
I am very anxious for 1.6. Hitting refresh on the XDA page in hopes of a nice 1.6 surprise
You and a lot of other people! I'm not really expecting it before this afternoon. Sooner would be great, but I'd be surprised.
sombionix did say it would be today though.
Yeah I would imagine alot people will be downloading so might have to wait until tonight to get my sweaty mits on it
