CM7 supports FLAC natively, stock Android (as of Gingerbread) does not. There are some apps that can play FLAC on stock Android, but I don't personally have any experience with them.

I'm running cm9, so if cm7 has it I would assume cm9 can read it.

I just found this out when I flashed CM7.2 (Hellfire Phoenix). I am thrilled!! The stock player also sounds better than poweramp. Impressive. I can get the same equalizer settings by going into the native DSPManager too. All for free.

I don't know which of these features is just my Rom, a CM7 feature, or only in Hellfire Phoenix though. I've never tried stock Gingerbread.
