I have a Nextbook Ares 10A. I realize it's an older device but it was working pretty well until play Serv update 1-30. Now I'm having issues IDK how to fix. I've only made 1 post regarding the problems and do appreciate all the help and advice that was given to me. Some of my questions were answered and I was given links to help me understand some of my concerns but there seems to b some other underlying problems with my device other than it's out of date but I don't really know how to proceed to get more help. Maybe I just don't know how to use forums correctly. Can someone plz tell me how ? I guess I just don't understand how my device cud b working fairly well then just not be. Will somebody plz tell me how to proceed??

well its a forum and not a support from the manufacturer. members here are usually quite knowledgeable, but they can't know everything. people who are able to help will respond. while those who do not, will not respond. i'm not sure what else you want out of a forum. i will say this though, AF is as good as anything on the net. it has become a family to me.

now as far as your issue(s) are we talking about this thread?https://androidforums.com/threads/n...tly-freezes-and-crashes.1321274/#post-7953837

if so then lets keep your issues in that thread rather then continuing here. it is always better to have the issue discussed in one place.

If you did a factory reset, then updated all the apps with Google Play, my guess is that is part of the problem.

Apps grow larger and larger as features and patches are added on over time.

So on an older device with limited memory, the apps it came with worked fine when the device was new- but after multiple updates these same apps are much larger and some may have reached a point where they are not as compatible with older systems.

So I would start by uninstalling the updates to any built in app that will still function without them.

Google Play Store, and Google Play Services need to be current.

Drive may or may not need to be current, depending on which version your device came with.

G-Mail usually does not need to be current.

Any apps that you don't use do not need to be current, such as bloatware.

As for that black wallpaper, you can just use an all black picture and save it as your wallpaper- using the built in gallery app.

That alone will save some memory.

Many apps that come from Google Play also contain Google analytics, whic run continuously and use huge amounts of memory.

I had a device with the same specs as yours, and was having the same troubles.

It turns out that my favorite (at the time) launcher, which only took up about 12MB of memory and 30MB of RAM, had Google Analytics running constantly that ate up 200MB of RAM!

That is 20% of the RAM on a 1GB device, plus what the app is using.

So you can see how one app, combined with one game and the system itself, can cause thete to be issues.

Start over, and then open the PlayStore.
Turn off the Auto Update in the PlayStore settings.

Allow the PlayStore to update itself and Google Play Services.

Then go through and check the other apps that Google says have updates available.

See if they work without updating them.

If so, leave them alone so that they don't take up more space.

Here is a very small all black pic that I use for a wallpaper.
Download it, and use your Gallery app to make it your wallpaper.

  4. i'm new to AndroF as a user or “member” but i've been occasionaly reading specific post & forums since 2017.
my 1st post on here, i'm not sure if i posted a somewhat new forum or if it's just a question within a forum.
i was trying to post a question within a string of questions within a specific forum.

Welcome to Android Forums, superandroninja! It's good to see a former lurker become a member and start participating. :)
I believe you're referring to this post, which created its own thread on the LG Leon board.

You're apparently looking for info/help with an LG Phoenix 3 [LG M150]. It looks like that doesn't have its own board, but you're welcome to ask questions on our Android Help board. Just use the 'add post' button and fire away!

It's always helpful to provide as many details as possible. So give it a descriptive title, state the problem you're having, and tell us about your device [name, its Android version, whether it's rooted]. We'll try to help!
