Is there an app that allows me to do this instead of the designated spots?

Normally, Android allows you to put the shortcuts on any empty spot on your home screen. You can't place it in a spot that is already occupied. You can trash or move the existing shortcut, then place the new shortcut there..

I don't think you understand, which may be my fault. I mean "anywhere" as opposed to 4x4...

    The short answer, no.
But checkout the new thread titled "Sweeter Home".

    Or just watch this video:

This home replacement app is supposed to be available on the Market within a few days. I can't wait!!!

I've had my droid for about two weeks and am using home++ and thought I had the phone figured out....I'm amazed at stuff like this. Will/does this cost anything?

Don't know. If anything, just a few bucks. Just say "no" to the next value meal and spring for it. :D :D :D
