    2 step verification is OFF

    I keep getting this message........

Wrong sign in info. Try again

I have checked, double checked, and triple checked that I'm using the same log in info as the computer log in to the same account, (which works fine) and the case is the same.

    Thanks

Daft thought: you don't have auto-complete in your keyboard adding a space at the end of your ID or password? It might not matter for the address, but it certainly would for the password.

    Thanks Hadron.

I went and tried the password, adding a space at the end and still the refusal to accept the log-in.
    Was worth a shot ;)

It was a long shot. Though I was actually wondering whether the phone was already adding a space which shouldn't be there, rather than the other way round.

(I have used computer operating systems where trailing spaces were treated as part of the command - a #"$! to debug! Thankfully those horrors have been consigned to the past...).

Just to clarify, is that error message from when you're trying to log into your account using a browser/webmail access or an email app? And if it is an email app, which one?

Email app on the phone. It's the one that came with the OS so it's just called "email"

Have you tried going into your Settings >> Application manager and doing a 'Clear data' on the email app? The 'Clear data' will wipe all the apps settings and configurations, returning it to it's original state. Then try to enter in your log in info again.

If that doesn't work out, give some thought into installing an app from the Play Store. There's the Gmail app of course, I like K-9 Mail. A lot of people recommend Aqua Mail. Read good things about Blue Mail too.
Note for some third-party email apps, Google gets a little finicky so you might have to alter your account's security settings:

Ok...I just got this from Gmail.....

Google just blocked someone from signing into your Google Account you@gmail.com, from an app that may put your account at risk.

Are you the one who tried signing in?

Google will continue to block sign-in attempts from the app you're using because it has known security problems or is out of date. You can continue to use this app by allowing access to less secure apps, but this may leave your account vulnerable.

K9 email and the OEM email app are security risks?

Well, yeah in a sense. Similar to non-Google AMP web sites being labeled as inferior to AMP'd sites as far as how Google views the web.

That's why I previously included that link on how to change Gmail's security setting, some third-party email apps just don't conform to Google's mindset.
