Can Oreo Be Put on a C881?

If anyone has been successful please share.
My understanding Oreo is less RAM intensive on old phones. But I can't even get Holo Jellybean launcher to behave on this durable phone. And not in a position to throw it away and upgrade.

I can't find much developer support and given the age of the device, an update from the manufacturer is out of the question.

Root on it's own means very little, you need a custom recovery and an unlocked bootloader to install a ROM.

Cyanogen are called Lineage now (it's a long story) and there's nothing on the Lineage download page to imply they are working on any Casio devices. https://download.lineageos.org/

I believe the GZone Commando was a Gingerbread, Verizon only CDMA/EVDO phone, and long discontinued, so don't think many devs would be interested in working on it. I know this device because one of the American teachers had one, and found they couldn't use it in China.
