can someone confirm new software update will not break pdanet/foxfi tether ?

I just got this phone from Walmart and it keeps asking me to update from 4.1.2 and I just wanna know if this is going to break my usb tether from pdanet/foxfi using "hide my tether usage" to get around tmobiles really ridiculous .5g limit ? It did when I updated from 4.1.2 to 4.3 in my HTC One and I don't want the same thing here.
