I've been on Apex 1.4.1 for a while now, and then I stopped coming on the forums for a time. Now I came back and there is Apex 2.0. Apparently, to go from Apex 1.4.1 to 2.0, you have to jump through hoops and do a bunch of stuff.

Is it just simply go back to .340, then flash GB .591, then flash Apex 2.0?

Do I have to worry about clearing any cache or data or anything?

P.S. - If I have this correct, can someone point me to the GB .591 file? Thanks

You need to go to .340, flash GB .588 via the 3 step method, then flash Apex 2.0 (with the kernel update file from Apex first)

For the files to get to .588, go here: DroidX Gingerbread 2.3.3(4.5.588) Install Patch with Root

    Step by step:

    For going to .588:

Download z4root, Droid 2 Bootstrap, and the 3 parts of the .588 install
    1. backup your files and whatnot however you usually do. I did a TiBU of all of my user apps+data as well as my user dictionary. Also did a backup of my call log using "call log backup and restore"
    2. get to .340 stock either via SBF or maderstcok (if you need instructions for this, just say so)
    3. Root using z4root
    4. install droid 2 bootstrap, reboot into recovery, wipe data/cache, and install all 3 parts of .588, sequentially. You must install all 3 before you leave recovery. Wipe data/cache again here. (Yes, you're wiping it a lot when there shouldn't be anything on there, but its the easiest way to avoid bootloops)

For going from .588 to ApeX 2.0:
    1. download the ApeX kernel updater and parts 1 and 2 of the ROM
    2. use droid 2 bootstrap to get into clockword mod. From there, wipe data/cache, install the kernel update first, then part 1 of the ApeX
    3. Reboot your phone
    4. reinstall droid 2 bootstrap, reboot into recovery, install part two of the ApeX
    5. restore whatever things you backed up way at the beginning that you feel like.
