Can a Sprint store rep remove any of those apps that we can't, for some idiotic reason, remove ourselves?

You need to root your phone, then you can delete 'bloatware'

Yep kwmetalfan is correct. Once you get root you can do anything with your phone you want to (well just about anything) but until then you have to take all the crap sprint wants you to have on it...

Thanks for the info but I'm kinda scared to root my phone. With my luck, I'll turn it into a paperweight. Guess I'll just have to put up with that crap.

I was in your shoes two months ago with the same concern about rooting... but since then I rooted and loving it... give it a go... but first read as much as possible into the subject... rooting for dummies is a great guide and can be found in the rooting sub forum...
