I'm looking at a nice auction on ebay. Reputable seller, Droid X w/ clean esn, Car mound, Multimedia dock, extra battery and oem case for $465. The one thing I'm wondering before I spend extra buying something I don't need, will the car charger for the D1 work w/ the X. I have the oem verizon one.

If it has a micro-USB plug, you can use it.

Yes you can use it...I use the charger from my Moto Droid car dock with my X and it works fine.

Keep tabs on the output charging rate of the charger you are considering. While the MicroUSB will, in most cases, work; a lower charge rate will take significantly longer to charge the phone.

Ty. The main thing I'm looking at for the car charger is just keeping the juice topped off during long rides. Just wasn't sure if there were and voltage/amperage issues.

All mini and micro USB chargers output 5 volts. The original charger for the X only puts out 800 mA, if I remember right, which is fairly low for a micro USB charger. There were plenty of 500 mA mini USB chargers, but most micro USB chargers output 1 amp. Motorola and Sony seem to like 800 mA for whatever reason, though.

the chargers verizon sells for the x and the D1 are the same exact charger.
however, if you have the car charger with the extra USB port, the x wont charge from that port, and will only charge from the main cable.

but yes, it will work just fine, as it is the same exact car charger.
