Help Cannot add music to Galaxy S

My phone says connected and Kies will open, but I can't add any files to my phone. It was never this hard with my old iPhone and i tunes! I've tried everything that I've found in these posts...some help would be greatly appreciated!

turf off kies and install directly through my_computer via cable OR just take your sd card out and install on that

kies is not necessary

Drop the mp3s into media directory through windows explorer seem to be much quicker too. I tried putting a 720p MP4 onto my phone through Kies and it started converting the file even though MP4 is accepted by the galaxy.
Using windows i just dropped into the media directory. It asked if I wanted to convert and I said no. Copied over and plays perfectly.

If you want a software to sync your music you can use doubleTwist on your desktop to sync music.
