Cannot get gallery to display in alpha numeric order

This is a general android photo gallery question. I am hoping someone can answer it for me.
When viewing photos in gallery they do not display in alpha numeric order.
Is there a way to get them to display in alpha numeric order?

Hi, I don't know if this what you are looking for but if you open photos in Gallery and tap the three bars on the top left of the screen it gives the option to sort by time. Phil

I appreciate your suggestion but that does not help.

I have a directory on my phone with photos in it.
I want to get the photos to display in alpha numeric order. This way when I open the directory and pick a photo and I swipe the photo left or right it will diaplay the next alpha numeric order depending on which way I swipe. It will not currently work this way and I can't seem to find a way to do this.

I am hoping someone knows how to do this.
