Samsung model SM-T110, Android 4.2.2

After using this tablet to play Pandora through some speakers for several months, it stopped doing same. Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi and move the slider to enable it. The large panel on the right side displays the text: “Turning on…”, and after a minute or so changes to display: To see available networks, turn on Wi-Fi.

While displaying “Turning on…” it will not do anything else. Sometimes it will not change Wi-Fi to the on state.

Any idea of what can be done to get this working again?

Done that, several times. Router and modem are both working cause this computer is using them both to play Pandora as I type. Laptop computer connects via the Wifi.

Does the app need updating?
Does anything else on the device that requires Wi-Fi work?

Anyway, I dont know about Pandora.

If your Wi-Fi works, try RadioDroid.

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.programmierecke.radiodroid2/

It is free, allows radio staions around the world that have streaming services to be played, a simple search function, recording, and more.

There are even stations that stream specific genres.

The WiFi configuration is the basic problem. As noted in the OP we cannot get the options to select the network and enter the password.

That sounds like the WiFi has failed on the tablet, a hardware fault. Repair or replacement required. And given that this tablet is an old 4.2.2 device, it's likely beyond economic repair, i.e. it's new tablet time.

Ok, send that one to the electronics recycle.
Thanks mikedt.

Next tablet, same goal, different symptoms.
Toshiba, model AT7-C, Android 4.4.2
Get connected to Wifi, open Chrome, it proclaims that I must update. Jump through all the hoops, log on the the google account, and try to update. Touch the button "Install" and there is a message: "You don't have any devices"
Obviously I do, the one I am using.
I don't recognize anything that looks like: Add this device.
How might I convince Google that I have a device? Specifically, the one in use.

Tried Firefox, reported that Firefox is incompatible.
Tried MS Edge, reports "Can't download Microsoft Edge: Web Browser"
What else might I do? Or is this 0 for two.
Yes, they are old, but Pandora worked before and I don't care how old it is.

Thanks for your time.
