    Hi Im new.
So I updated to V9 using my computer.

    When I try to re-root the Ally when I type " /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh " this happens:

    Code (Text):
    1. $ /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
    2. /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
    3. [+] Using newer pipe_inode_info layout
    4. Opening: /proc/7482/fd/3
It just stays like that forever.

    Any Help? :(

I have the same setup and have been trying to get past that point for two days now. I've even looked at the source code for asroot2 and understand why it hangs, but don't know what to do to get past it. I've seen several people say they were able to root v9, but I'll be damned if I know how they did it.

Get/Have insurance on the phone. Drop it into a bucket of water. Get replacement. Update OTA to V8 then Root.

theres gotta be a way to reroot it without doing something like that. but before you do "accidently" drop it in the water remove your micro sd card

Follow the procedure found here to downgrade to v6. It worked like a charm for me last night and within 20 minutes I was being offered the OTA v8 update. After that, root came pretty quickly.

i agree.. those instructions worked on 2 of my ally's. both got rooted, though some voodoo of the sd card going in and out. silly.

Downgrade to V6 and then OTA worked perfect as the others described.

But I ran into one issue of the phone reloading Android over and Over. Had to hard reset to fix.

I've had a rooted phone for a while not but I was able to root my wifes ally with v9 using z4root. Easy as pie. I just downloaded it, installed it, and then ran it. No problems.
